Marimekko Desktop Calendar – July 2013

Designer Erja Hirvi brings us this “pawsitively purrfect” pattern made up of three repeating kitties, called “Siniverinen” or “blue-blooded.” Hirvi wanted to capture the many different dimensions of cats’ personalities and nature, from their playfulness to their predatory instincts. One sitting, another taking a cat nap, and one on the prowl; each of these cats leaves a beautiful black silhouette against a grey background.

With the weather warming up for summer, I’ve seen more and more cats perched on windows, bird watching and soaking up the sun’s warm rays, so I thought this would be the perfect print for the July desktop calendar.

Want to take this pattern from the digital to the tangible? The Marimekko Siniverinen Grey/Black Fabric is sold by the repeat, so that each of the three poses is captured on each cut. If you have read my profile snippet, you know I am a self-proclaimed cat lady, so I was ecstatic when this fabric came in. I personally used it as wall art in my front hallway, but it would also look great as a duvet cover or made into pillows, too.

Download in these sizes: 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 960, 1600 x 1200, 1680 x 1050, 1920 x 1200

Download the desktop wallpaper without the calendar, so that this pattern never goes out of date.

    Hi Meg,

Thank you for the comment! Unfortunately, we don’t have the Mummolan Marjat pattern currently, so we aren’t able to feature it as a desktop background. Luckily Marimekko is always coming up with new patterns, so feel free to look around AlwaysMod and see if anything catches your eye for the coming months. We are glad you enjoy the wallpapers and look forward to any future suggestions you might have!

    Megan
