Marimekko Throw Pillow
We came across this beautiful nursery by Cam. We love the colors, the simplicity and, of course, the Marimekko throw pillow. Cam purchased the pillow at Etsy. Interested in making your own? Get some Lumimarja fabric and learn how here.

The new Savannin pattern by Marimekko designer, Nora Fleming, is a walk on the wild side. Featuring long legged giraffes in vibrant color schemes, this pattern is sure to be an attention-grabber. And its versatile design makes it great for children and adults alike. Marimekko Unikko Wall Hanging
Mimi was nice enough to share this photo of a Marimekko Unikko wall hanging that she created from a tablecloth for her new home. This is just another example of how Marimekko fabric can be used to decorate your home. Want to make your own wall hanging like this? Read our Marimekko wall hanging instructions. Fabric used: Marimekko Unikko.

Cork boards are handy but they have the reputation of being a bit of an eyesore. However, with a little Marimekko fabric, you can have a bulletin board that is as attractive as it is useful. Here is a brief guide to creating your own Marimekko bulletin board.

1. Buy a cork board. They can be purchased at Target, Home Depot or just about any craft store.

2. Choose your fabric. Lay it over the bulletin board to create a pleasing composition.

3. Cut your fabric, leaving an extra inch on each side. For example, to cover a 12×12 inch board, cut 14×14 inches.

4. Stretch the fabric over the cork board. Fasten in the back with staples. Make sure you secure the fabric by alternating staples between the four sides. This way, the fabric will be even.

5. Once you have stapled the sides, it is time to fix the corners. We recommend cutting off the fabric corners’ tips so you will have less material to staple through. Fold the fabric “hospital corner” style with a tight triangular fold to create a flat and unpronounced edge of fabric. Staple to secure.

6. Attach D-rings to the back of the cork board with a glue gun. We prefer the glue gun to the screws because most boards are too thin for screws. Above are the ones we used.

7. Hang and enjoy!

Special thanks to Apartment Therapy: Chicago, for inspiring this design idea.

Marimekko Wall ArtMarimekko Wall Hanging
We got this great example of Marimekko wall hangings from Femmme Fatal. She chose Marimekko Bonbon fabric (sorry, not available) to cover two separate pieces - we think it looks great. Learn how to make your very own Marimekko wall art here - take a look at available Marimekko fabrics here.
